Cuttlefish Multimedia Ltd. is a Web design company based in the centre of Loughborough in Leicestershire. We specialise in building 'content managed' Websites that allow our clients to maintain their own Web pages via simple-to-use tools.
We have developed our own multimedia Content Management System (CMS) called 'communityPortals'. communityPortals is used in many small and large-scale installations and it's users number in the thousands. It is utilised by our clients in local government, commerce, the arts and even by our local Member of Parliament.
Cuttlefish offers a full range of services based around communityPortals. We can design, build and host your Website using the system and train you in its use (this won't take long!). We can configure and maintain a dedicated communityPortals Web server and work with your organisation to create a dynamic and up-to-date Web site. We can also customise the system and integrate it with your existing databases and content systems.
Websites built using communityPortals are inherently standards compliant. They adhere to the latest XHTML and CSS standards, comply with accessibility guidelines, can be made eGovernment compliant and 'under the hood' make use of the latest XML and XSL technologies.

Cuttlefish Multimedia Ltd has joined forces with Leicester and London media company Channel 2020 to form Calico Interactive Ltd - a new company specialising in Internet video and social networking.
Cuttlefish's Sean Clark, a Director of the new company says, "This is a really exciting time for us. Cuttlefish has been developing Internet technologies for over five years and this new working relationship gives us the opportunity to apply our expertise to completely new business sectors."
He adds, "We identified social networking and Internet video as potential growth areas for us about two years ago and we've invested a lot of effort in ensuring that our content management tools support them."
The first applications of this new technology were the Nintendo Life, ClickOnGolf and OnlineClassroom sites, plus the new Pineapster 2.0 music community.
Cuttlefish Multimedia will continue to run alongside the new company, with existing and new Cuttlefish clients benefiting from the extra resources and expertise that Calico will make available.
