Cuttlefish has implemented a suite of advanced tools in a subscription-based social network for medical professionals. These include:

• A desktop application which can convert DICOM medical scans to flash video allowing members to upload, share, advise and comment on the cases they're working on.
• A full-featured e-Learning area containing interactive training materials.
• Member profiles that encourage cross-linking with colleagues and their institutions.
• Integration of the content management system with the PubMed web services to provide linking with peer-reviewed publications. This allows editors to easily reference publications in their articles, and gives members the opportunity to promote their publications on their personal profile.
