Yes, it's that time of year again and Cuttlefish are proud to be working with the Summer Sundae Weekender! We're refining and improving last year's successful iPhone app, expanding onto Android devices and making the main website fully mobile so no one need miss a beat! The launch of the new Cuttlefish iPhone App for Broadway Cinema in Nottingham went very well, with a packed room present to hear about how the website and App development has helped change the way Broadway sells tickets across the board. New Cuttlefish member Paul Fillingham presented the App from our perspective and feedback was excellent. Over 150 copies of the App had been downloaded 'pre-release' and as many again were downloaded over the following weekend. Following the launch of our new Broadway Cinema website in October, Cuttlefish has now released the accompanying iPhone App. The free app gives users access to the latest film schedules, as well as film trailers, reviews and user ratings. It also offers ticket sales - giving visitors to the Nottingham cinema a complete mobile commerce facility. Find out more here, and download it now! Cuttlefish has just launched an iPhone app for the Leicester Art Walk. The App gives information about the artworks that are currently being shown around Leicester as part of the walk, plus an interactive map of where to find them and the ability to read the "QR Codes" that are placed next to them. The App is available for free from the Apple App store.

Leicester's annual Summer Sundae festival is now upon us and you can keep up-to-date with what's happening from the comfort of your tent thanks to a free free festival iPhone App from Cuttlefish. The App is available from the Apple App Store and provides complete festival listings, plus interactive map, picture uploads, reminders and background information about the event. Cuttlefish has been commissioned by Renaissance East Midlands to develop an exciting new location-based Internet system. "Empedia" will provide a range of tools to enable museums, libraries and archives to create interactive maps and exhibition guides that will be viewable on computers and mobile phones.

it is hoped that Empedia will become an ever-growing collection of maps, audio tours, picture trails, video trails and interactive guides that people can use to explore the rich culture of the UK's East Midlands. Users will be able access Empedia using a standard web browser on a desktop computer or laptop, but it will really come alive when used on a mobile device such as an iPhone. This will allow residents and visitors to the East Midlands to have Empedia - and all of the great content it will contain - with them wherever they might be.

The project officially started in April 2010 and development of the platform is progressing well. It will have a limited release in September 2010 followed by a full public launch in February 2011.

Cuttlefish is looking for expressions of interest in the project from museums, libraries and archives in the East Midlands. Cuttlefish has a strong in-house team, but we are always on the look out for good freelancers. At the moment we are looking for iPhone/Android Developers and CSS-based Graphic Designers. Your location is not important, but you need to be able to work both independently and, at times, closely with our core team at times to suit them. Cuttlefish has had its first App approved by the Apple iPhone Store. The Pineapster App gives members of our popular Pineapster community the ability to check news and events information and post to the discussion forums from the comfort of their iPhone.
